About

They made it through the war—only to come home to another.

Over 30% of those who served in Iraq or Afghanistan suffer from some form of PTSD. Even more disturbing is the fact that 60% never seek treatment.

Why? The reasons are complex and highly individualized. Limited access to care, the stigma associated with mental illness and the notion that PTSD is a sign of weakness are just a few of the contributing factors.

At Operation Boomerang, our goal is to overturn misperceptions about PTSD and empower veterans to seek treatment. And we’re doing it by partnering with organizations and select individuals who are making a difference through innovative treatment programs and unprecedented social support.

Our mission is to raise awareness about the reintegration challenges veterans face and effect positive change in the lives of those with invisible wounds.

Founded by Lisa Strickland, Operation Boomerang is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization.
